Majiwa Library

Our first library is in the village of Majiwa, near Kisumu in Kenya, East Africa. English is the primary language of school instruction, but there are very few books for people to read. The closest public library is an hour away by bus, and has a very limited selection of books.

The building for the library is donated, and is manned by volunteer staff. As of March 1, 2011, our library also has electricity for lights and computers. Below, we have photos of the library building, one of our sponsored orphans (Mercy on the left), and one of our librarians Lucy
